SFI Future Innovator Prize 2019 – Zero Emissions Challenge
Science Foundation Ireland is inviting research teams to compete for a €2 million prize award under the SFI Future Innovator Prize to develop disruptive STEM-based solutions that address significant challenges in achieving net-zero economy-wide greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
The SFI Future Innovator Prize is a challenge-based prize programme that aims to support the formation of diverse interdisciplinary teams to develop novel, potentially disruptive, technologies to address significant societal challenges.
Under this call, selected teams will progress through several phases to compete for an overall €2 million prize award. An additional bonus prize of €1 million may be awarded for solutions with transformative potential in the area of Negative-Emissions Technologies.
The closing date for applications is 23 September 2019.
As part of this call, workshop support grants may be applied for during the application stage. The purpose of these will be to enhance applications to the programme through the stakeholder engagement, idea generation and team formation activities. Applications must be submitted by 26 July 2019.
