Rye River Scoops an Impressive 19 Awards at the World Beer Awards
Recognised as one of Ireland’s largest independent craft breweries, Rye River Brewing Company based in Celbridge, County Kildare, has won a remarkable 19 awards at the prestigious World Beer Awards 2018, making Rye River the most-awarded brewery in Europe. Among the awards were best double IPA for McGargles Dan’s Double IPA, best Kölsch style for Grafters Kölsch and best classic style Pilsner for Crafty Brewing Company Irish Lager.
Considered to be the greatest accolades in the beer industry, the World Beer Awards are internationally recognised and celebrate the best of beer across the globe. Over 2,000 beers from thirty countries were adjudicated by an expert panel of judges to determine the winners. The Celbridge brewery held its own when judged alongside international heavy-weight, Boston Beer Company who produce the renowned Samuel Adams – proving Rye River a trailblazer for independent craft breweries across the globe.
Founded in 2013, Rye River Brewing Company is now one of the largest and most decorated independent craft breweries in Ireland. Producing an eclectic range of unique craft recipes that consist of over twenty beers under the McGargles, Rye River, Crafty Brewing Company, Solas and Grafters brands. Renowned for its commitment to authentic craft recipes, Rye River expertly brews in 2500L batches and create the crafts through hand-turned malts and using farm fresh hops. Since 2013, Rye River Brewing Company has been at the forefront of innovation in the craft beer industry.

Rye River Brewing Company’s achievements in the World Beer Awards are the latest wins, in what has already been an extremely successful year for the brewery. In April this year, Rye River Brewing Company picked up three medals at the Frankfurt International Trophy, a further twelve medals at the Alltech Craft Brews and Food Fair in March and eight Great Taste Awards.
