Five Hi-tech Start-Ups to Locate HQs in Ireland
The trend of hi-tech start-ups locating their headquarters in Ireland shows no sign of slowing down with five North American and European high-growth companies moving here. The companies that have announced plans for Ireland include New Relic, Seko MedTec, NeoMed, capSpire and StartingDot.
The five companies are to create 132 jobs in Dublin and Galway after they were brought to Ireland by the IDA Ireland’s Emerging Business Division which targets high-value jobs in IT, internet and digital media.
Minister for Jobs Richard Bruton said the plan was to get developing companies to put roots down early here.
“The thinking behind this drive is that these companies will establish deep roots here from early in their growth and make a substantial impact on our economy. There is also of course the possibility that one of these companies will turn into a world-leading company of the future,” he said.
New Relic, a software analytics company, is creating 50 jobs in Dublin. The company has already raised $80m in finance and provides real-time analytics of mobile apps.
Med tech company, NeoMed will create a further 22 jobs in Dublin. The company makes “enteral nutrition delivery devices,” which deliver drugs through the digestive system The company will establish its European, Middle East and Asia headquarters and sales teams in Dublin.
An energy consulting company, capSpire is creating 20 jobs by opening its first international office to serve European clients.
A further 10 jobs will be created in Dublin by StartingDot, a French internet domain name registry.
In Galway logistics company Seko MedTec Solutions is creating 30 jobs.
