Irish clean tech firm CMV is to create 30 jobs in Co Offaly, after signing a deal with US-based H2envirO to roll out its Elimbac product in North America and other international markets.

Developed by CMV, Elimbac is an environmentally friendly, water-based system for killing pathogens such as MRSA and E.coli.

The technology uses electrolysis to kill pathogens in water and can deliver a 100 per cent kill rate of pathogens and microbes at 60-80 per cent lower cost.

CMV chief executive Geoff Carragher said all products destined for the US will be manufactured at the company’s plant in Tullamore, with more than 30 new jobs being created at the plant over the next three years.

“The agreement is worth in excess of €24 million to CMV over the next 10 year period,” he said.

“We believe that our relationship with H2envirO will quickly establish the Elimbac product throughout the North American water and wastewater sectors, and together with Elimbac’s approval for use in nearly all of the EU Countries, will establish Elimbac as a leading Global disinfectant product,’’ he added.
