SRL Research Scales For Future Growth With Merger
As part of continuing expansion at leading Irish sensory, scientific and consumer research firm, SRL Research has announced a merger with Independent Sensory Services (ISS). The partnership will strengthen SRL Research’s position in both Irish and international markets, and enable the company to drive efficiencies in costs and human resources.
Founded in 2002 by Margaret Shine, SRL Research has grown from a Genesis startup at the Rubicon Centre, Cork to an internationally traded services company with an impressive portfolio of global leaders in the food, beverage and pharmaceutical sectors. Prior to the merger, SRL Research employed 27 people, and this increases to 35 following the announcement.
“This is an exciting time for SRL Research; the merger with ISS enables us to consolidate our position in the Irish market, while also increasing our resources and abilities to meet sustained growth internationally,” explains Margaret Shine, Managing Director, SRL Research. “We recognised in ISS the same commitment to quality and best practices, as well as expert human resources and a strong client portfolio, and we are delighted to partner with Dr. Liz Sheehan and her talented teams.”
Independent Sensory Services (ISS), founded by Dr. Liz Sheehan in 2005, works specifically with food and beverage companies based in Ireland. The company has an impressive client list of well-known Irish food and drink producers, providing sensory services and product development research, quality testing for shelf life and taint testing as well as customer research.
“Sensory research plays a huge part in the success of a new product when it hits the market”, explains Dr Liz Sheehan. “Multi-million dollar and euro decisions are based on the sensory research services we provide to industry. This partnership positions us for sustained growth, and enables us to meet growing market demand, while continuing to provide the highest quality services using the latest developments in technology and testing.”
The newly merged company will trade as SRL Research with two Irish offices.
